Shihan Chris Thompson, a 9th Dan in Kimura Shukokai Karate, serves as one of the Joint Chief Instructors of Kimura Shukokai International (KSI). Shihan Thompson first met Soke Shigeru Kimura in 1971.
After years of training under Sensei Kimura, Shihan Thompson has dedicated his life to advancing Kimura Shukokai. As the Chief Instructor for KSI Southern Region in South Africa for more than 50 years, he has promoted the legacy of Soke Shigeru Kimura.
SHIHAN LIONEL MARINUS, 9TH DAN

Shihan Lionel Marinus holds a 9th Dan in Kimura Shukokai Karate and is one of the World Chief Instructors of KSI. He began his karate journey in 1965 and achieved his 1st dan in 1967.
His dedication to the art deepened in 1973 after a year of intensive training with Soke Kimura in New York, laying the foundation for his lifelong commitment to Kimura Shukokai Karate. He continues to teach and inspire students around the world, sharing his passion for Kimura Shukokai.
SHIHAN BILL BRESSAW, 9TH DAN

Shihan Bill Bressaw, 9th Dan, serves as a Joint Chief Instructor of KSI and is the Chief Instructor of the American Shukokai Karate Union. With over 50 years of experience in martial arts, he began training under Soke Kimura in 1971 and played a crucial role in establishing KSI in the United States.
Throughout his career, he has taught thousands of students at the Fords and Edison dojos, helping them achieve personal growth and competitive success. His journey has taken him around the globe to promote the legacy of Kimura Shukokai.
SHIHAN EDDIE DANIELS, 9TH DAN
1949-2020, ENGLAND
Shihan Eddie Daniels started karate in 1965, practicing Shotokan and Wado Ryu. In 1968, he transitioned to Shukokai and became one of Soke Kimura’s most dedicated students. Shihan Daniels served as the Senior European Instructor until Kimura’s passing in 1995.
Following Kimura’s passing, he became one of the four World Chief Instructors for KSI. Shihan Daniels was among the most experienced martial arts instructors in Great Britain. He continued to teach and inspire until his passing in 2020, leaving a legacy in the KSI community.
GASSHUKU INFORMATION
Each World Chief Instructors session lasts approximately 75 minutes, with a 15-minute practice break between sessions.
