NUUKSIO
For nature lovers, Nuuksio national park is a good showcase of Finnish nature. There are multiple marked hiking trails with varying lenghts and degrees of difficulties. PORVOO
Porvoo is a small, picturesque town about 45 km from Helsinki. Old Porvoo is a popular tourist attraction with old houses, cobblestone roads and narrow walkways. There are many restaurants and cafes available. It is possible to travel to Porvoo by car, bus or boat or a combination of boat and bus. The boat leaves from Helsinki Kauppatori (~1 km from Helsinki railway station) to Porvoo (~3,5 h boat trip one way). SUOMENLINNA
Suomenlinna is an island fortress close to Helsinki. It was built in the 18th century and added to the UNESCO’s world heritage list in 1991. Suomenlinna is easily accessible by local transportation ferry departing from Helsinki Kauppatori. The ferry trip takes about 20 minutes and ferries leave every 40 minutes during week and every 20 minutes during weekends.
